She describes her experience as, "Like drowning." The first two hours were the worst. She was able to vaguely recall that she had been sexually assaulted.

Her attackers had tied her up with a handkerchief that she was able to use to free herself after she tore it away from her mouth. She was later sexually assaulted by three more men. All the while, she was kept naked and bleeding.

After one particularly brutal attack, she felt like dying. But she did not give up, and eventually the men stopped raping her. This powerful quote expresses what happens to victims of rape when they live through it.

They feel like they can no longer laugh or feel joy in their lives because their bodies are used as objects of pleasure for others.
